She/He designs and develops information systems, such as computer hardware, operating systems, software and networks. She/He chooses the tools and technologies that will be used and supervises their implementation.
This term comes from the contraction of “development” and “operations”, in the sense of exploitation.
The IT industry is constantly evolving, and it’s often a good idea to merge the developer profession and the system administrator profession into one profession: DevOps.
She/He is a specialist in computer languages, such as C ++ or Java. She/He is responsible for programming, that is, for producing lines of code.
For this, she/he writes and follows a bill of specifications which points out the technical characteristics to be respected in order to create this tailor-made computer program.
She/He translates the client’s requests and problems into IT solutions.
Her/His missions require technical but also managerial skills to support the work of developers. She/He must know how to write specifications, define a schedule, and assess the working time and budget necessary for the proper conduct of a project.
She/He checks all the analysis parameters of a software in order to detect bugs.
Then, she/he validates it and provides recommendations.
